Enrolling your child at TRY

South Yarra Preschool

Select the program you wish to enrol in

Children are eligible to enrol for 3-year-old Kindergarten if they turn three prior to April 30 in the year they will attend Kindergarten.

If your child turns three between the commencement of Term 1 and April 30 they can only attend with a parent or guardian present until the time they turn three.

If your child turns three after April 30, you may still apply, however you will be placed on our waiting list. Once your child has turned three and a position becomes vacant we will contact you accordingly).

Please be aware that in this scenario your child will not meet the age eligibility for 4-year-old Kindergarten the following year.

Early Start Kindergarten

Early Start Kindergarten gives eligible children 15 hours of free or low-cost kindergarten a week for two years before starting school. To be eligible, your child must be three by April 30 in the year they start kindergarten, and:

  • identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander OR
  • your family has had contact with Child Protection (or been referred to Child FIRST).

No Jab, No Play

The Public Health Amendment (No Jab No Play) Act 2015 means that Early Childhood Education services cannot enrol a child, unless an Immunisation History Statement from the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) is provided.

The statement must show that the child:

  • is up to date with vaccinations for their age OR
  • is on a recognised vaccine catch-up schedule OR
  • has a medical condition preventing them from being fully vaccinated.

Documents produced by GPs or other immunisation providers or copies made from the child’s health book will no longer be acceptable as proof of immunisation. This information will be required prior to your commencement at Kindergarten.
